My second self-design. I really wanted to avoid an in-line scrollbar, but I just didn't know how to get this effect without it. Well, hopefully this one looks good in 800x600 and won't have a double scroll. Those are even more annoying than an inline scroll. Though I must admit that it has grown on me. I've changed the extras around a bit too, and a few of the links don't work, but they should soon.
The lyrics are from the Simon and Garfunkel song "Bookends" and seem especially appropriate for a diary. My CSS source was, again, W3schools and I discovered some useful web color sites like The Visibone Color Lab, The Color Wheel and this nifty Color Scheme site. I altered the bookend image from one I found on google image search which I can't find again. It was an online store selling these bookend, so I think it's a safe bet that they won't be too worried about copyright. If I'm wrong, and you recognize these bookends, send me an email or something.
