Last night was THE big party night on campus. Surprisingly enough, I semi-participated. I was walking back to my dorm from the arts center after seeing a play a couple of my classmates were in, and the crowd was in front of one of the dorms I pass to get to mine, so threading through was unavoidable. Along the way I ran into a couple of my friends, among the few sober people there. My friends are all boring too. So I stuck around, and we talked, and laughed at the people making fools of themselves, and then we all ended up in my room, eating half the 4 lb box of Swedish Fish my parents sent me. I had fun.
Lately I have been downloading photos from stock exchange like a fiend. I have some ideas for layouts...and I'm not even tired of this one yet. But my entry to The Template Challenge, although a decent effort and perfectly sound esthetically, did not fare well. And this has fueled my desire to try more ambitious design ideas. I'll probably never code anything as complicated as most of the designs I was competing against, simply because I don't like designs that seem that cluttered - I like clean, simple layouts, and if people are going to have access to the code to use on their own sites, I want something flexible enough for simple customization. But, it doesn't have to look amateurish or unpolished.
I have a midterm paper due Thursday and a midterm exam on Friday, so, if I'm good, I won't start working on anything until fall break. Which is next week. This time Sunday, I'll be home...
